Spring Semester Starter

posted Jan 5, 2015, 9:24 PM by Micah Mobley
Welcome back, y'all!  We had a really strong fall semester, and earned that break...but we still have a lot of work ahead of us, and the work needs to begin today!  We have some new faces joining our group this semester, and we need to welcome them into an environment that will put us all in a position to be successful.

To get us all on the same page, we have a few items to go over.

Each student needs to bring ONE box of pencils and TWO boxes of kleenex.

#2: Check-in/Check-out procedure
Remember, being "ON-TIME" means that you are here, logged onto your station, and CHECKED IN before 8AM.
Each day, you should also complete the check-out form from the useful links page of our site.  Any lessons not completed during the session time is required homework.  Edge points are on the line when you have homework to do, so make sure to stay on top of it and stay "on-track".

#3: Writing Prompt for Today
In your journals, I am asking that you reflect on where you have come from and where you want to go this semester.  Write at least a full, grammatically correct paragraph explaining your thoughts.  Your answer should include at least one area in which you personally struggled over the prior semester...we all have them!  It should also include at least one area in which you made some significant personal growth.  That will bring us up to speed on where we currently stand, but don't forget about where we are headed though.  Your reflection should include your goals for the upcoming semester.  What areas do you feel you need to continue to improve upon, to become the kind of person and student that will see you be successful this semester, and in your lives after school....we are always looking down the road a ways to guide our actions.

#4: Nuthin' to it, but the do it!
Once your journal reflection is complete, go ahead and dig into the lessons!
